Rules & Responsibilities
1. Attendance at ALL meetings is mandatory. If you cannot attend a meeting, you must inform an advisor
or delegation president beforehand.
2. Attend all Youth & Government functions with a positive attitude and contribute in an appropriate
manner. Disruptive behavior may result in you being separated from your friends or asked to leave
the meeting. Remember Carolyn’s motto: “If you act like 5 year-olds, I will treat you like 5 year-olds!”
3. Similarly, remember that you not only represent yourself, but your delegation, the advisors, and the
Anaheim Family YMCA. Any inappropriate behavior before, during or after any YMCA sanctioned
event may result with disciplinary action at the lead advisor’s discretion.
4. YOU are responsible for all information given to you. “I wasn’t here” or “I wasn’t paying attention” are not
valid excuses, and it is your responsibility to get all necessary information.
5. Be open to new ideas. Not everyone shares your opinion. You do not have to agree with or like
another's opinion, but you do have to respect it.
6. Maintain your grades at school. This is an elective program, and you cannot attend Y&G if this program
adversely affects your grades.
7. Come prepared to meetings and events. Bring your ideas, research material, pen and paper. For the
rest of your life, NEVER go to a meeting without pen & paper…it’s good advice!
8. Make your payments on time. Be aware of payment dates. If you do not pay or make financial
arrangements with an advisor, you will NOT be registered for conferences.
9. Please talk to an advisor if you have a problem or concern. We’re here to help!
